I consider myself so lucky to be reaching the one-month point at my amazing new job...but sadly, with the adjustment of transitioning from college student to real-life adult, this little blog has slipped under the radar. I write blog posts three days a week here, and my creative juices are happily flowing for work in more ways than one.

And, in my opinion, the blogging industry is starting to change. For one, it's obviously over-saturated, and in order to run a successful blog, you need to be able to devote so much time to it. And when I get home, the last thing I want to do is crack open my laptop and spend more time with a screen. I'm so happy with my job - I get to style, meet tons of new people, and produce content. The Southernista simply isn't my focus anymore. I have more outlets now to sharpen my skills and write about the things I love. To be honest, the point of this blog was to showcase my skills in order to gain some leverage in the ever-looming job search in college. But now, I am well on my way to a great career. Hooray!

I'll still be all over social media - Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and Google+ - so please do keep up with me there! And, catch all my new posts over on NorthPark Center's blog.

Thank you all so much for following along with me the past two years. Blogging opened so many doors for me, and I enjoyed every minute of it. Until next time! xx

Popping in to share this darling video from Gucci. It's a colorful ode to their horsebit loafer - a style they introduced in 1953 (60 years ago)! We all know that I live in flats, mainly ballets, but this super preppy/androgynous look has my full attention. Doesn't this video remind you of Audrey Hepburn's little dance in Funny Face? Too cute!

On my first day of work last week, I was absolutely shocked to discover that I have my very own office - huge desk, tons of storage, two chairs, and a giant window with a pretty great view. Since this is my first job, I was expecting a cubicle. But I am thrilled with my new office digs and did a little decor shopping over the weekend. I'm going with lots of white, silver, pink, and a touch of green. How did you decorate your office or desk?

We have a full-on heat advisory today in Dallas. Is that stopping me from ogling over J.Crew's new catalog that just arrived? Absolutely not. The number-one thing on my fall shopping list is the Aiden ankle boot in brown. I've been holding out for this style of boot for a few seasons, mainly because I've yet to find the one. Well ladies, here it is. These boots will be perfect with jeans and sweaters, leggings and tunics, and dresses and tights all winter long. I know I'll be running around a lot with my new job (my first day is tomorrow, yippee!), so the low chunky heel is a huge plus. Have you ventured to browse the fall catalogs yet? What's on your wish list for cooler days?

Wow, I can't believe it's my birthday today! My 21st year was incredible and definitely flew by. It seems like yesterday that I was celebrating with my family in NYC last summer. What a year it has been...I finished up my internship at Hearst Digital and finally came home to Dallas to begin my senior year of college. My last year at SMU easily went by the quickest. I am so thankful for everything my alma mater as given me - an amazing education, a loving boyfriend, and six of the best friends I could ask for. Luckily, all seven of those special people are still in my life post-grad (none moved away, yay!). Because I graduated in May, this year was full of beginnings and ends. My friends and I would sit around the sorority house declaring the last football game, the last formal, the last spring break, all the way down to our last classes and exams. Graduation weekend was a total blur of ceremonies, parties, and time with family. I can hardly believe that was two months ago.

It's been fun to start new traditions with my friends and boyfriend now that we don't all live on the same campus. On Monday nights, my girlfriends and I gather at one of our houses/apartments for dinner, wine, and the Bachelorette. Sundays are usually spent with my guy, when he doesn't have to work that crazy job of his. Making the extra effort to see each other is crucial now that we don't all live in the same square mile.

22 is officially old. I know my ten-year-old self would consider me old at this point, at least. But with college behind me and a (fantastic!) new job starting soon, I think 22 will be pretty great too.

Take the Day Off Balm by Clinique // A beauty buff and good friend of mine recently recommended this product for taking off makeup. We both used removing cloths like these, but she has fully converted to this gentle balm. You slather it on, let the balm do its thing, then wipe away the day with a washcloth.

The Surf Set by Bumble and Bumble // Bumble and Bumble's surf spray has been a cult favorite for years. I despise doing my hair during the dog days of summer, and supposedly this spray makes perfect beachy waves out of wet hair. Have you ever tried it?

Bikini So Teeny by Essie // If Mackenzie rocks it, guaranteed I'll love it. This light blue-periwinkle shade is so perfect for summer. I usually reach for corals, reds, and pinks during the summer, but she has me thinking I need to branch out to the blues.

Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask by Fresh // Like the first item, I've heard lots of great things about Fresh's mask. I've used their soy cleanser and Sugar lip treatment before. Sunday night face masks are one of my favorite beauty rituals.

Which summer beauty products are you into right now?

Let's start this week off with a few happy handbags, shall we? I call these little babies "going-out bags" because they are the perfect companion for a night on the town when all I really need is my iPhone, ID, some cash, and lipgloss. Clutches serve this purpose as well, of course, but a crossbody strap is a requirement for me. How else am I supposed to dance the night away, handsfree? I already own a black one, but I've got my sights set on a bright color for the rest of summer and fall. They are just too cute. So help me decide! Which one is your favorite?
